Asbestos Contaminated Soil Assessments
Asbestos contaminated soils can result from buried waste asbestos products, demolition of buildings prior to removal of asbestos products, use of recycled materials (particularly building products) contaminated with asbestos, importation of contaminated fill material or significant weathering of asbestos cement roofs (hail damage for example).
Key actions required to protect the health and safety of your workplace or build site are:
-
the identification of hazards;
-
assessment of risks and implementation of controls (where applicable);
-
classification and labelling of hazardous substances;
-
collection of relevant MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets);
-
training of personnel; and
-
atmospheric monitoring and health surveillance.
