Health & Safety Management Systems

HSMS is a Health & Safety management system that is fully supported by management at all levels within an organisation and includes a coordinated and systematic risk management approach to workplace occupational health and safety.

The Safety Management model includes:

Safety Management

The implementation of the Safety Management model helps to meet a number of business imperatives. Its primary purpose is to minimise the risk of injuries and accompanying costs. Other outcomes include compliance with legal requirements, meeting industrial relations expectations, accounting for ethical concerns and overall improved financial performance. It also allows companies to meet the challenge from major clients who not only require quality service, but evidence of company safety in the form of a Safety Management Plan that conforms to relevant Australian Standards.

Effective implementation of an HSMS will see continual improvement by a system of planning, implementing, evaluating and reviewing. It will demonstrate a company’s ability to reduce risks associated with its activities in a systematic manner.
